what's the point if you can't laugh?

A little piece of video from my deadlift at the meet yesterday. I quit I had nothing left, but the mc said I still had some time, so I grabbed the bar double overhand which would beat the record by 75lbs. Of course I was joking. I've barely tied the record. The point here I'm wanting to make is don't be scared to laugh even in the middle of a competition. Everyone forgets we started doing this because we enjoy it. If you can't enjoy the pursuit of your dreams then are they really worth it? Even on the world's stage I hope I can still make jokes, and enjoy myself. Especially to the new people. You may zero an event (hell you may zero every event) but remember you signed up for the competition because you wanted to test yourself, and you did. You still did better than everyone that didn't show up (I know super cliche). But seriously finish the event, shrug it off, and focus on the next. Enjoy the pursuit, laugh, and have fun.
