Why I have competed so much the past year.
As I approach my third meet at Sequim it got me thinking why I have competed so much in the past year. Previously I only competed 2 or 3 times a year while from Sequim last year to this year I will have competed 6 times. In the past year my life has been a constant struggle, and competition is my constant. My first competition of 2015 at RAB fitness in Kennewick Wa was a terrible meet for me my prep leading into it was absolutely terrible. In order I lost my car, I got in a wreck in a box truck, and got pretty sick. The competition happened while still not completely over the sickness. Most people would pull out after all that, but I had to go. When the rest of my life is shit a 600lb deadlift will always be a 600lb deadlift. I also get to see friends, and forget about my problems for at least a day. Back even further when I did hardcore powerlifting in Newport it was right before I ended up living in my car. I drove all the way there in a snow storm with no where to stay, and no idea if I would be able to get back home. I did take a break after that to get my life back together, but I needed that competition. I needed to know at least one part of my life was still the same. Of course I've also competed so much this year because I don't have a woman nagging me about it.
